Stephanie Chaney, Nurse

My adventure in veterinary medicine began in 2009. I first got a taste of veterinary medicine when I was performing pet grooming for a veterinary hospital. I quickly realized that I wanted to know more about veterinary medicine. Hungry for more, I put myself through the Austin Community College Veterinary Assistant program. During my time in school, I was able to acquire and practice many skill-sets that a veterinary assistant needs to be successful within the field of veterinary medicine. I did many hours of volunteer work and enjoyed the ability to share my skills and give back through shelter medicine.

Shortly after finishing the program in 2014, I was able to get my foot in the door at a small animal general practice where I continued to feed my desire for more knowledge as well as obtain many skill sets. I was able to continue to grow individually as well as share my knowledge with the clients.  I have a passionate for surgery, emergency medicine, disease control and animal behavior.

While continuing to foster my desire to obtain more knowledge with regard to veterinary medicine, I am currently pursuing my Veterinary Technician License (LVT) through Purdue University. Outside of my profession career; I have an amazing son, Christopher, who is my motivation for all that I do in life. We currently have two dogs, a cat, 3 axolotls, and several aquariums of fish.

Autum Dallman, Nurse

I have always wanted to work with animals from a very young age. Fast forward to becoming an adult, I was given the opportunity to work as a veterinary nurse and I fell in love with it! A dream finally coming to fruition! I love being able to be a voice for the voiceless, and to advocate for my patients. It brings me joy to be able to nurse an animal back to health.

My absolute favorite party of my job? Dentistry! I love to see the immediate change in pets' smiles after a dental cleaning. I enjoy educating clients on the effects bad breath or poor dental health has on the body over all, not just the oral cavity. Our pets tolerate so much without being able to tell us that owners will see a completely new pet once the burden of oral pain has been resolved. I also enjoy educating my clients on dentistry and preparing preventative care plans that work best for each pet and owner.

I am currently enrolled in school and working towards my LVT. I plan to specialize in Dentistry and spread my enthusiasm for pet care with others in the field of veterinary medicine. My biggest goals in life are to perform a dental prophylaxis on a lion, and to cuddle an otter. I currently have 4 pets of my own: 3 cats: Punkin, Mister Pickles and my tripod Athena; and my redbone coon hound, Red.
